Because this fudge is so incredibly easy to make, I can serve it anytime my family has a sweet-tooth attack! It has a rich, smooth and creamy texture every time, without fail!
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk*
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans, optional
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Line an 8×8-inch square pan with heavy duty aluminum foil; set aside.
In a 1 quart microwaveable bowl, combine the chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk and salt. Cook on High for 3 minutes, stirring each 1-1/2 minutes. Stir in chopped nuts and vanilla extract; blend well.
Spread mixture evenly in foil lined pan. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm. Turn fudge out onto cutting board; peel off foil and cut fudge into squares. Store loosely covered at room temperature. Makes about 2 pounds.
* Do Not use evaporated milk.
