Sugar & Sour Cream Walnuts
Sweet, crunchy goodness in every bite! A great snack for any occasion!!
1-1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pound English walnut halves
In a 3-quart saucepan, mix together the sugar and sour cream. Cook over low heat until the sugar dissolves, stirring frequently. Stir in the vanilla extract; add the walnuts and stir just until well coated.
Line an 11×7-inch baking sheet with waxed paper; spread coated walnuts onto waxed paper. Bake at 150 degrees F for 2 to 3 hours or until the walnuts are dry and sugary; stir occasionally to separate the walnuts.
Let stand until cool. Store in a tightly sealed container at room temperature. Makes 4 cups.

I got to try some of these today and boy are they YUMMY!
Wow, this looks like it would taste simply amazing. I’ll definitely have to make these. Thanks!
Thanks! We simply loved them and they are really easy to make.
I had these the other day as well and they were awesome just like everything else you make!
These are great, great, great…. I ate all the ones you sent with me so I decided to make some of my own. I only had almond slices and cashews so I decided to try a little mix with those two and they turner out awesome! I also had to cook them at 170 degrees as that is the lowest setting my oven had….
For us lower carb folks, can you substitute sugar with splenda … any experience?
Tom, I have never tried the splenda but I think maybe half sugar and half Splenda might work. If you try it please let me know how it turns out. Good luck!
Hello Emily! I live next door to Jason and Christy. Oh my goodness, this is delicious! Jason just brought some over to share. Yummy!
